چکیده

Abstract The Longshou Shan of western China is the northern backstop Cenozoic Himalayan-Tibetan orogen and occupies a key linkage between Tarim continent North craton which separate pre-Cenozoic Tethyan orogenic system Central Asian system. Therefore, Paleoproterozoic–Paleozoic evolution this region critical to understanding extent overprinting deformation, construction Eurasian continent, relationships Here we present detailed field observations results geochronological major trace element Sr-Nd isotope geochemical analyses samples from decipher its complex tectonic history. Our show that Paleoproterozoic basement rocks were part involved in orogeny. A ca. 965 Ma granitoid provides evidence for spatial Tibetan continents, early Neoproterozoic. presence Early Ordovician granitoids arc volcanic suggest bivergent subduction Qilian oceanic lithosphere occurred during Paleozoic. Crustal shortening thickening Ordovician–Carboniferous orogenesis are evidenced by several unconformities Shan. Late Carboniferous granites exposed study area likely associated with southward Paleo-Asian Ocean north Permian siliciclastic strata sourced proximal arc-subduction system, based on detrital zircon ages. Although history can be traced back Neoproterozoic time, most recorded deformation uplift Paleozoic orogeny late Furthermore, interpret events (i.e., China, Qilian, orogenies) spatially temporally correlative along strike those cratons.

Metamorphism of basement rocks in the Central Zone of the North China Craton: implications for Paleoproterozoic tectonic evolution

Lithological, structural, metamorphic and geochronological data for the North China Craton enable its division into the Western and Eastern Blocks of Archean to Paleoproterozoic age separated by a north–south trending Paleoproterozoic orogenic belt: the Central Zone. The Central Zone is divisible into a series of lowto medium-grade granite–greenstone belts and high-grade metamorphic terrains co...

High-Pressure Granulites (Retrograded Eclogites) from the Hengshan Complex, North China Craton: Petrology and Tectonic Implications

Both highand medium-pressure granulites have been found as because of the absence of modal minerals. The combination of petrographic textures, mineral compositions, metamorphic reaction enclaves and boudins in tonalitic–trondhjemitic–granodioritic gneisses in the Hengshan Complex. Petrological evidence from these history, petrogenetic grids and thermobarometric data defines a nearrocks indicate...

Origin and tectonic significance of the Huangling massif within the Yangtze craton, South China

As the oldest exposed basement and the typical sedimentary cover of the Yangtze craton, the Huangling massif is a suitable place to decipher the tectonics of South China block. Structural analysis shows that the Huangling massif has an elliptic domal shape with N–S striking long axis, an asymmetric antiform with a steep western flank and a gentle eastern flank. There, three litho-tectonic units...

This complex comprises dismembered fragments of mantle lithosphere, obducted oceanic lithosphere and parts of volcanic arc remnants. The Khoy Ophiolitic Complex can be structurally divided into two major eastern and w...
